We've closed the book on 2007 and are well on our way into 2008. Where did the time go? (I'm guessing a lot of it was spent in Ravelry...) But I look forward to an exciting and rewarding year, and hope the same for all of you too.
Knitting Matters will be doing as much as possible to help shops this year, by providing patterns that knitters want to make, in yarns that YOU sell. I'm planning to offer trunk shows to KM retailers this year, and there's a good chance I'll be exhibiting at TNNA in June.
Easy-order news: Shops can now place wholesale orders online and pay by check or credit card. See the entire selection of Knitting Matters patterns here.( A note to individual knitters: You'll notice that the KM newsletter is now geared more toward yarn store owners, reflecting the change to wholesale-only. I hope to begin a separate newsletter more suited to your interests in the near future, but feel free to stay subscribed to this one as long as you like. And thanks for your notes of support as I make this transition!) |
| Radiance is here! |
|
Here in Michigan we don't get much sunshine this time of year, so I decided to create an alternate light source. Meet Radiance, a vest that is sure to brighten any dreary day!
This is one of my favorite designs because it looks much more complicated than it is. It makes use of diagonally-knitted garter stitch as well as a side-to-side stockinette back.
The model was made in Trendsetter Tonalita because its long color segments are perfect for this pattern. It would also be striking in Noro Silk Garden or Cascade Di.Ve Autunno.

| Welcome the newest KM retailers! |
| I'm pleased to announce that you can now buy my patterns at Skeins on Main Yarn Co., right here in my hometown of Rochester, Michigan. In addition, Knitting Central of Westport, CT has become a KM retailer, receiving the very first shipment of 2008. If you live in either neighborhood, make sure to stop in and take a look at their goodies. |
| New Pullover Pattern Coming in February |
|
I'm ready for a change from all the vests, so next month will see the release of a new Green Knits pattern called "Circle of Life", a circular yoke pullover done in O-Wool Classic from Vermont Organic Fiber Co. By the way, if you're going to Long Beach next week, stop by their booth (#454) and see my model of the popular Rose Baby Cardigan in O-Wool Balance. |
