Here in Michigan we've barely had time to enjoy the colors of fall and we're already faced with forecasts of winter weather. As it does every year, thankfully, knitting will help keep me sane during the long, dark months to come.
A fun new toy just arrived in the mail today that's going to provide hours of much-needed winter entertainment: a teleidoscope! I've already been roaming the house looking at everything through it -- even my bookshelves. I'll eventually calm down and use it for knitting, I'm sure, but I feel like a kid with this thing!

| Knitting Postage Stamps |
|
The US Post Office has just released their new "Holiday Knits" stamps for the 2007 holiday season. Their website says the stamps were "designed and machine knitted by nationally known illustrator Nancy Stahl: There's a dignified stag; a snow-dappled evergreen tree; a perky snowman sporting a top hat; and a whimsical teddy bear." Go to the Post Office website or your local post office to get yours.

| New Pattern: Twister Vest |
| Take a look -- this much-anticipated vest pattern is ready for download now! Thanks to all who waited patiently for it. I wore this vest at the Stitches Market in Baltimore this year and got lots of nice comments on it.
It's made in Lanas Puras Melosa yarn, which is available at One Planet Yarn and Fiber. As a special bonus, when you buy the pattern from me you get a discount code for 10% off the yarn. |
